Ayla Heier / "ILLUSIONS IN A BOX #1: connection/separation"
Ayla Heier (b. 1990, Utrecht, Netherlands) is a self-proclaimed vulnerability activist, performance artist, bodyworker, and workshop facilitator based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. With a degree in Theater Studies from the University of Amsterdam and training in Dearmouring, a bodywork and trauma release modality, Heier's practice is dedicated to fostering genuine human connection. Her work utilizes physical presence, touch, movement, and words to explore the complexities of authenticity in contemporary society. "ILLUSIONS IN A BOX #1: connection/separation" stems from her profound discomfort with inauthenticity and the pervasive lack of genuine connection. Recognizing the role of mental constructs in creating separation, Heier proposes a physical boundary as a space for authentic encounter. By entering this space with vulnerability and transparency, she challenges preconceived notions and invites deeper, more meaningful connections.
