KUD Ljud
KUD Ljud | Ljud group is a collective of artists and humanists who believe in theatre as a “living” phenomenon that must be in direct contact with the present times. When designing a theatrical event, we focus on different forms of interaction between the audience and performers, thus establishing theatre as a game, as a ritual, as an event of social integration. We are interested in working in public urban spaces, eclectic combinations of genres, techniques and styles; we pay a lot of attention to the reflection on the purpose of and social contextualisation of our work. Since 2006 we have also been developing new approaches to educational and social projects. For the past 15 years, we have been running the Ljud’s Theatre Laboratory and Cultural Consultancy, an open and free programme for youth workers, young freelancers, young theatre enthusiasts and others where we offer free informal training in theatre techniques (interactive, physical and improv theatre), which we then demonstrate with theatre interventions in public spaces. We link non-formal and formal education, working with universities, secondary and primary schools and youth centres.
